Our Impact

"Yoko" means "bright and positive - like the sun". In a world filled with chaos, deadlock and uncertainty, our hope is that the Yoko Forum will be like a lighthouse gleaming in the dark offering hope and a more positive and holistic vision which unites an ethical, moral and indeed spiritual understanding with the material and technological advantages that present day society offers.

We measure our success in people being inspired. These stories are a testament to the difference that we can make when we come together to create lasting change.

Hakan’s talk was quite enlightening! He spoke of a number of things which related nicely to contemporary ideas in mathematics. The Q&A involved a number of thought-provoking discussions that were done in a highly cordial manner. This showed the audience was full of open-minded people.

The Yoko Forum is a wonderful initiative that holds a variety of thought-provoking, uplifting and inspiring talks on a wide variety of subjects. It is fascinating to hear these talks from experts in their fields who are able to deliver nuanced, well-rounded presentations that spark very interesting debates.

I had the pleasure of attending a talk by Niels Christensen on the subject of trust. It was a deep dive exploration into the subject of social trust. It was wonderful to hear how the fabric of society builds up levels of trust first through individuals, and then through wider groups. I also found it immensely useful to hear of the vastly different ways that social trust operates within different countries. This talk concretely explained how we can increase trust within our own nations and how this directly creates a prosperous, safe society for all. Overall, this talk was particularly helpful as often global leaders neglect to speak on how important it is to have high levels of social trust. This talk also shone a light on the instruments within society that breakdown levels of trust, and how we can be aware of them as individuals.

My experience at the Yoko Forum event, with guest speaker Frank Adams, was both positive and enriching. It was very inspiring to see so many young people taking an interest in nature, sustainable agriculture and organic farming.

I very much enjoyed hearing other individuals’ personal experiences of being moved by nature, such as being uplifted by its beauty and power.

It was lovely to see people from all different walks of life, nationalities and professions, coming together to discuss the ways in which we can help to create a sustainable world for future generations.

The talk helped me to understand the importance of organic farming, as it was shocking to hear the detrimental effects that humans have had on biodiversity, which is essential to our survival. I hope that we can all make important changes as we move towards a more sustainable future.
